Saturday night was babysitting night at the Lewis household. One granddaughter was at a birthday party at Laser Quest from 5-8 while the youngest came over at 4 to get a head start with grandma and papa. We had set up plans for the evening a few days earlier. She wanted to paint, eat pizza and have a bubble bath. She certainly isn’t tough to please.
Friday after work I headed out and bought all we would need for a session of painting. Canvas boards, brushes, and paint. Kelcey, grandma, and I were all set to deliver some truly original masterpieces. Well, as it turned out, they were definitely original, however they fell short of being masterpieces. Oh well, that didn’t matter to us, we had fun and that was all that counted. We’ll still find a place on the wall for all of them!
After pizza, painting, and a little TV, we all hopped into the vehicle and made our way to Laser Quest to pick up Kelcey’s big sister from the birthday party she was attending.
When we got back home there was only one more thing to do on Kelcey’s wish list for the night…the bubble bath!
After the bath we all settled on the couch to watch some of the shows I had recorded for the girls over the course of the last month or so, including “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” which turned 51 years old only the day before. That’s one of my favorite shows of all time and it’s nice to know it’s still popular with kids today!
After that, it was bed time for the girls and grandma and papa, who were a little more than tired.
I might not be able to paint very well, but I certainly had a wonderful Saturday night!
