Things are not going well for the Regina Pats.
The team is back on the road to continue an eight-game road trip Friday in Red Deer. It is a trip that saw them start 1-4 after a less than desirable swing through the U-S Division. It leaves the team with a record of 13-12-2.
The last game of that trip was Saturday in Spokane meaning the team has had time to sit back and reflect on what happened. That was good according to captain Sam Steel.
“It was good to get away from the rink and just try to recharge,” Steel said “It’s a tough road trip, win or lose. Once you start getting in a rut like that, it can be tough on guys mentally too.”
Head Coach John Paddock isn’t impressed with the play of late and knows what is needed if his team is to start generating some victories again.
“Our best players have better get going, that’s clear,” Paddock said. “When you kill penalties at 62 percent rate that’s atrocious. When you play five games and have one powerplay goal and it’s five on three, that’s atrocious.”
620 CKRM will have Friday’s game from the Centrium starting at 8 o’clock.
