Well, the shovels are out and at the ready. One in the front and one on the back deck. I didn’t have to use them as much last year as I normally do. Last year’s winter shoveling was like this year’s summer lawn mowing…there wasn’t a lot of action on those fronts. And when it comes to shoveling snow, the less the better!
My wife and I actually raked up all of our leaves last Saturday. We ended up with 15 big bags of leaves. I must admit, my wife’s timing was impeccable! She’s so smart.
I decided that it was useless to hope for any more warm weather so I actually packed up everything that was shed bound and put it away for another winter. I’m one of those who finds the transition to winter rather depressing. Blah.
On a brighter note, the Toys ‘R’ Us catalogue arrived this week, which means it won’t be long before the girls are over at our house circling everything they want for Christmas this year! I’ve noticed the Christmas toy commercials are already ramping up on TV. On Saturday night Kelcey was playing with her grandmas cellphone on the couch when a toy commercial came on. Without even looking up at the TV she said, “I want that.” Really? You didn’t even see what it was! She even asked when we’re putting up the Christmas tree this year!
Hey, let’s not rush things! Papa’s still getting used to the idea of winter coming back for another year!
