The Regina Police Service headquarters is growing, and for a great price.
The city and department announced the purchase the old STC building on Broad Street to better accommodate the RPS for over $16 million, pending council approval.
Chief Evan Bray says having a new facility will help the department better serve the people of Regina.
“Being able to secure the building across the street really does allow us to remain in our home. But, have a virtually brand new building.”
$21 million dollars is designated to retrofit the facility.
Bray says he’s unsure if the building will be able to house all officers from the various departments through out the city, but is hopeful the facility will be in operation as soon as 2019.
