The details regarding Premier Brad Walls’ government email account continues to be a hot topic.
The issue was raised again in question period Monday, with NDP MLA David Forbes saying people should be able to count on the account being used for government business.
“No matter how you feel about keeping a promise, surely we can all agree the Premier, any Premier, should be able to count on their Government email account to do their job,” Forbes says. “Even though there is no proof it was down for two weeks in September.”
Minister Responsible for Central Services Christine Tell says her ministry is now capturing and storing government information in a more secure and reliable manner.
“We have now taken to improving how we’re capturing the information and storing the information,” Tell says. “We started a project with respect to the information we have captured. We’re moving it to the cloud, it will keep information in a better way.”
Tell says this a government initiative to adapt and respond to changing technology.
