A family in East Regina has been forced to move out of their home after a fire destroyed much of their home, belongings, and killed their family dog.
Liam Easton, Ireland Hurry, along with Jordan Dickeson and girlfriend Dominique Sauve, were forced to move after a fire.
Easton says it’s been a very stunning experience for him and the others.
“I think it has been eye-opening to all of us more than anything,” Easton says. “Financially we’ll recover over time, material is material, but it was a bit shocking more than anything.”
Easton says support from friends and family has been much appreciated.
“The response from people has been overwhelming no doubt, everyone has come up right away and helped out with anything they could,” Easton says. “There’s been go-fund-me pages that have helped out because there’s lots of costs right away like finding food right way and places to live, down payments on new houses, and what not. That’s been tremendously helpful.”
While insurance covered most of their belongings and found them a place to stay, Easton says things were difficult financially and emotionally, as they lost their family dog, Luna, and their home.
A go-fund-me page has been set up for the family.
