A 34-year old Regina man appeared in court Tuesday after half-a-kilo of cocaine was discovered in a residence on Halifax Street.
Early Monday morning – following extensive investigations – RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime Unit South and Regina Police Service’s Special Weapons and Tactics team executed a search warrant at a residence on the 2300 block of Halifax Street in Regina.
An estimated half-kilogram of a substance, believed to be cocaine, was seized from the residence. An adult male was arrested at the scene without incident.
34-year-old Ryan Coutts of Regina is charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He appeared in Regina Provincial Court Tuesday morning and was released on conditions.
“We see the harmful effects illegal drugs have on the communities we serve,” said Inspector Donovan Fisher, Officer in Charge of Federal Policing. “To seize a significant quantity of illegal drugs means we are preventing them from reaching others – something we consider a success.”
No firearms were discharged during the search warrant execution and no injuries were reported to police.
