There’s been extensive damage to an apartment building in Moose Jaw after structure fire engulfed the building Saturday night.
Around 10:00 P.M., Moose Jaw Police, Moose Jaw Fire and Moose Jaw and District EMS were called to the 1300 block of Wolfe Avenue for a fire.
The entire north side of the apartment complex was engulfed in flames and residents were evacuated as fire crews quickly worked at extinguishing the flames.
Police ensured the occupants of the apartment building were accounted for and contacted the Red Cross to provide support.
Members of the First Baptist Church volunteered to provide meals and shelter for the displaced tenants.
The Canadian Red Cross is also assisting the 15 individuals affected.
Eight members of the Canadian Red Cross Personal Disaster Assistance Volunteer Team are conducting needs assessments for evacuated residents and are providing food, clothing and accommodation for 72 hours for six people, an additional nine people required accommodation on Sunday night.
