For the last couple of days Max and I headed out to somewhere we hadn’t been since the snow started falling last month…the dog park. With the weather warming up I decided it was time for him and I to both a get a little daily exercise.
Although the weather has warmed up I was still a little worried about how icy the park was going to be. When Max gets going full tilt it’s hard for him to come to a full stop in good weather. The last thing I wanted was him slipping and sliding around and hurting himself. Maybe I was just being a little over protective.
On Monday we went to the park and it was just as icy as I thought it might be. Max went for his run while I gingerly navigated my way around the park moving as quickly as I could. He had no problem on the ice while I almost went for a tumble a few times. One time was bad enough that I actually took a look over both shoulders just to make sure no one saw me. Here I was worried about Max when I should have been worried about myself!
Yesterday was a little better, although I did see a guy take a tumble while running with his dog. He also got up and took a look around the park to see if anyone saw him. I pretended I didn’t notice.
I haven’t owned a pair of cleats since I was a kid. Now, I might have to put a pair at the top of my Christmas wish list.
Size 10 please.
