The Regina Pats are going to be busy with the WHL Christmas break approaching.
The team begins a stretch of four games in five nights Wednesday when they continue a four-game homestand against the Kamloops Blazers.
The Pats go into the game holding down the first wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference with a record of 16-14-2.
While it is not known who head coach John Paddock will start in goal tonight, Max Paddock has been on a roll. He was guarding the goal Saturday when the Pats beat Medicine Hat making him 5-0 in his last five starts.
Tonight’s game will be the first for Regina without Sam Steel and Josh Mahura. Both are in St. Catharines, Ontario for the Canadian World Junior Selection Team Camp as they attempt to crack Canada’s World Junior team.
The Blazers team features 19 year old goaltender Dylan Ferguson. He made headlines earlier this year in the NHL when the expansion Vegas Golden Knights had to call him up on an emergency basis due to several injuries at the goaltending position. Ferguson did manage to play a couple of NHL games including one in Vancouver where he got the win.
Game time from the Brandt Centre is 7 o’clock. 620 CKRM will have the game starting with the pre-game show at 6:35.
