When the Sask. Party selects its new leader and ultimately Premier in January, over 27-thousand members will be eligible to vote.
Executive Director Patrick Bundrock said they are ecstatic about the commitment to party growth and people showing confidence in them moving forward.
“We started out the process at about 9,500 members, and we’re happy to report from that number that we released today, almost 14,000 are brand-new members that the Saskatchewan Party has never had,” Bundrock said.
Bundrock added they have seen that spike in memberships ever since Premier Brad Wall announced his retirement in August.
The next premier will be elected on January 27th in Saskatoon.
The Sask. Party will be sending out ballot packages in the coming days, with the deadline for members to return their ballots to the Sask. Party by January 26th at 5:00 p.m.
Members can also vote in-person at the leadership convention in Saskatoon.
