Rory Allen returns to Casino Regina for three shows tonight, tomorrow, and Friday at 8 each evening. It’s his Blue Blue Christmas Tribute to Elvis show, which also took him to Moose Jaw earlier this month.
I recently caught up with him to talk about his most memorable Christmas story.
“My fondest memory, I think, is when our kids were little and we were in our first house and we had a newborn baby, a two year old, a four year old and a six year old,” explained Allen. “I remember sitting on our couch and looking above the fireplace and seeing all the socks and stockings with all the kids names on it and even our little dog had a stocking.”
With a smile in his voice he began to explain how special that moment was for him seeing how his new, young family at the time was all together and snuggled up in pyjamas.
“I mean that’s what Christmas is all about; you’re family all together and just seeing those stockings above the fire place I’m kind of going ‘wow,’ chuckled Allen. “When I was young and in school I never dreamed it would be this neat, so that’s my fondest memory.”
I will be emceeing tonight’s show at the Casino Regina Show Lounge. Doors open at 7:15.
