Who cares about WINTER TIRES when you know a winter getaway is on the radar.
February 1st Lewis & Evans depart for another adventure with our faithful travel partners. The above picture was taken on the last day of our Jamaican holiday! Or was it Mexico. While a crew of us departed for home, Jamie and the “two week crowd” hung around to enjoy the sights and sounds of the island.
This year we are headed to Mazatlan, Mexico .. current temperatures around 28!
What kind of things do you do on your holidays? Are you a lay around the pool, eat and sleep person. Do you like to get out on the town at night and see some of the local attractions. Is one week enough or do you need two to three weeks to unwind.
My idea of the week is, it takes 2 days to travel and you are left with 5 days to be at the resort and surrounding area. Wouldn’t it be great to have a ten-day plan. That would be 8 days to relax!
Here’s the other thing, travelling and spending time away from home during Christmas. Have you done this? Airports will be crazy, you know it! Give yourself lots of time, have your credit card at the ready for refreshments on the plane.
Families plan for holidays and single people have the luxury of jumping in on someone else’s good time .. oh wait, maybe that’s just me. I mean, I would pay for my portion of the program.
The travelling from Alberta to Saskatchewan for 19 years was always an adventure. I would set out immediately after my morning shift. It made for an exciting day of driving. I couldn’t wait to get home. Have a catch up with friends and family before the Christmas action really started. And it was oh so good to get back on the road to head back to friends and work!
I had some harrowing trips along the Trans Canada highway. One year, finger drifts were growing to the point you just pounded through them hoping to stay in the ruts. There have been icy conditions that gave this driver fits. After you’ve been drawn into the ditch with everyone else a couple times, it is time to pull over and grab a roadside motel!
Take care this weekend – if you don’t have winter tires – consider them … (mine are in a shed!).
