With Christmas in just a matter of days, many familes are planning to enjoy time with friends and relatives, mainly indoors.
Dayna Vettese from the Weather Network breaks down what the forecast looks like for Christmas Day across Saskatchewan.
“It’ll be cold, but it’ll be sunny,” she says. “We’ll be dealing with a bright sunny day, just a few clouds in the sky, but temperatures are going to be very cold. So we’re looking at daytime highs in the minus 20’s, with the windchill feeling closer to -30.”
Temperatures like that aren’t great for travelling, so Vettese recommends packing an emergency kit in your car.
“It’s really important to have a few key items,” she says. “With regards to snow, you always want to have a collapsable shovel with you, just in case you ever need to shovel out. Obviously a brush, it’s also really important to have a blanket in the vehicle that can keep you warm.”
