SaskEnergy has broken the all-time natural gas usage record three times in three days this week.
The new record consumption is 1.43 petajoules, set between 9 am Boxing Day and 9 am on Wednesday.
The record surpasses the new records which were set on Christmas and Boxing Day.
SaskEnergy says the record was set due to extremely cold temperatures and demand from industrial customers and power plants.
The 1.43 petajoule record is seven percent higher than the record set last winter.
SaskEnergy says its system is designed for increased growth and demand and the system is able to provide more natural gas than required.
