My wife put me on notice last night that today is the day our Christmas tree will make it back into its box and back into storage for another year. It just seems like I put that darn thing up yesterday. What I didn’t find out was who would be the one to actually get the job done.
My wife is off today, so in all fairness, seeing as she’s the one who wants it taken down and put away, she should be the one to do the job. Of course, I’m not stupid enough to let those exact words slip through my lips in her presence. At this point it’s just a thought. I hope she doesn’t read this blog today.
I don’t know what the rush is. When I was a kid, the tree would go up the first of December and come down after the new year rolled around. I actually enjoy the bright lights emanating from that particular corner of our living room. As far as I’m concerned the tree could stay up another week!
Maybe my wife will surprise me and have everything put away by the time I get home at 10:30. If not, we’ll do it together and reminisce about what a great Christmas it was.
And a great Christmas it was!
