Three hundred and sixty-five days fly by very fast. This passage of time can be captured by reading past blogs, as they can read like a diary of our lives. Or you could keep a diary that remains very personal, not like the very public blog.
The year captured hearts, imaginations, hopes and dreams, and as in any cycle of life, disappointment was apart of it.
Canada 150 – was it a celebration in your mind or an awakening of the things that Canadians represent, have reflected on or what we can change moving forward.
The country mourned the loss of Gord Downie, but before he died, he gave us food for thought and how we as a country can move forward in actions and words.
Women across the country and the world jumped off the page to stand up to sexual assault and harassment with the #METOO movement. A moment in time that took courage to say, “enough is enough”. And that’s just the beginning.
Locally, the opening of Mosaic Stadium was a pretty big deal, even the destruction of Taylor Field held people’s imagination as the West side was pushed over .. or was it pulled over. That same day, the Roughriders hosted Darian Durant and the Montreal Alouettes. The lights were down, the fireworks went up and a warm tribute paid to Darian. The Riders won the game, Nik Lewis called it a career and I have to wonder, what will become of the beloved Durant.
I hope that you have some time to reflect on the good, the bad, the beautiful and even the ugly things that took place in your year.
How did you react and what will you do moving forward. Are you where you want to be or is there personal growth on your horizon.
We make our own destiny, sometimes its good to have a little help. Enjoy the weekend, think of what 2018 has to offer.
