Those looking for a new home were a little hesitant to buy in Regina last year, according to the Association of Regina Realtors.
Sales were down five-percent last year, with 26 hundred 77 homes purchased in the Queen City.
Gord Archilbald, CEO of ARR, says 2018 looks like it could be a big year for home-buying.
“Certainly going into 2018, there’s going to be a lot of supply on the market,” Archibald said. “Particularly in the first quarter of the year. The forecast is for a greater level of GDP growth taking place in the area – I think it was approaching three-percent in the forecast.”
Buying a home took 11 days longer in 2017 than it did the year before as well, continuing with the “slow year” trend.
All in all, the ratio of homes sold compared to homes hitting the market was at a low 47 percent.
