The Regina Pats appear to have made the first move to bolster their lineup for the Memorial Cup run ahead of the Trade Deadline, as they have traded for Jesse Gabrielle and Jonas Harkins from the Prince George Cougars.
In exchange, the Cougars receive prospects Kjell Kjemhus and Ethan McColm as well as third and fifth round 2018 Bantam draft picks.
Gabrielle has played the first half of the season with the AHL’s Providence Bruins, and has scored a goal and three assists in his first 21 games on the Boston Bruin’s farm team.
Harkins is a 17-year old defenceman who has one assist in 14 games this season.
There is no word if the players will be with the team Saturday night when they visit the Swift Current Broncos.
