On-Star Technology came in handy for Regina Police officers when they used the tracking system to determine the location of a stolen car.
As a result, two people have been arrested after a woman’s car was stolen on Vaughn Avenue Saturday night.
According to police, four people stole a the car and while the vehicle was spotted several times after the incident, police were able to eventually track it down in an alley on the 15-hundred block of Athol Street.
Police set up a perimeter around the car, and while the driver tried to escape, police eventually stopped in on 14th Avenue.
The stolen vehicle collided with a police vehicle in the alley, then crashed through a fence.
Two people – a 25-year old woman and 23-year old man were charged and were in court Monday.
Autumn Rain Sanderson and Terrance Desnomie both face charges of robbery and forceable confinement, among other charges.
In a report, Regina Police says further investigation into the incident revealed the victim had initially allowed the other people into her vehicle, but then asked them to get out.
It’s alleged the victim was prevented from leaving the vehicle, then assaulted and pulled out of the car.
