19-year-old defenceman Aaron Hyman will play in the Memorial Cup for a second straight year.
The Pats acquired Hyman from the Seattle Thunderbirds moments before the WHL trade deadline came to an end on Wednesday.
In return, the Pats send 17 year old defenceman Owen Williams and a 2nd round bantam pick in the 2019 bantam draft.
Hyman, has played in 139 games, scoring four goals, 23 assists for 27 points. This year in Seattle, Hyman has a goal and seven points in 26 games.
“Aaron brings size and playoff experience to our back end,” said Pats Head Coach and GM John Paddock. “He won a league championship and played in the Memorial Cup last season and will fit in great with our group.”
Moments after that deal was announced, the Pats announced they had acquired another defenceman.
They are sending a 7th round draft pick in the 2019 bantam draft to Lethbridge for Brady Pouteau. This will be his second tour of duty with the Pats, he was originally drafted by Regina in the fourth round of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
