Speed Skating Canada has announced its 10 man, nine woman team for the upcoming Pyongchang Winter Olympics, and it sees two skaters from the Regina Speedskating Club on the squad.
White City’s Marsha Hudey and Regina’s Kali Christ will both be making their second appearance at the Olympics after competing four years ago in Sochi.
The 27-year-old Hudey clinched her spot by winning the 500 metre race at the Canadian Olympic trials in a time of 37.46 seconds earlier this month.
The 26-year-old Christ finished second in the 1500 meters, but it was still good enough to qualify.
The achievement is one that caps a comeback of sorts as Christ missed most of the 2016-17 season battling a hip injury.
