What a day it was yesterday!
First off we had a blast hanging out with Bruce Lowe and the gang at Ag Direct Hail Insurance at the Crop Production Show in Saskatoon. I’ve always wanted to check out this agricultural show but never had the opportunity until yesterday. It’s the premier farm show for grain producers across the prairies which provides info on grain handling, new technology, straw and chaff management, soil management and much more. I have pictures below.
But the drive home was something else. I pulled over for a break at Chamberlain in the big rig turnoff area to assess what the road and weather conditions were like. I had the CKRM truck and I pulled away after about 5 to 7 minutes. That’s when I felt a clunk, assuming it was just a chunk of mud or ice that fell off a big rig earlier. I got back onto the highway and the spot where highway 11 divides south of Chamberlain my tire went flat…front driver side. After several minutes of trying to find the jack and tools I gave up and called for help. In the process of waiting for help the boys from Markusson New Holland drove by, then stopped, and helped out by using their own tools and got this tire changed. Thanks Josh, Gary, and Curtis over at Markusson for the help last nigh and thanks to Tyler and Cory at TRK Towing for coming out in poor conditions and helping us out too. Tyler helped located the jack and Cory got the tire fastened back onto the truck!
This is why I missed Saskatchewan so much and why I’m so happy I returned to Canada’s greatest province. The spirit of Saskatchewan lives in those who stop and take time out of their own schedule to help those in distress. Our province was built on helping each other out and I’m happy to see that continues in 2018!
