Don’t let the daytime highs fool you. Temperatures hovering near -22C look positively balmy compared to the windchill that’s expected to settle in throughout Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada says Thursday and Friday will bring some extreme windchill values near -40C at times on Thursday and Friday.
While this bitter cold is likely to be short-lived, two days of this cold weather will take its toll on residents, machinery and even the roads.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel however.
A temperature of -1C is promised next week, hopefully by the time Wednesday rolls around.
