Darian Durant has a new CFL home.
On Saturday night, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers added the 12-year-veteran quarterback to their roster signing him to a one year deal.
Durant spent last season in Montreal, but it was not a good season with him being released earlier this month
Before that, he spent a decade with the Riders and was on three of their Grey Cup teams including quarterbacking them to the 2013 title.
“One of our objectives this offseason was to solidify depth at the quarterback position behind Matt Nichols,” said Winnipeg general manager Kyle Walters. “Not only is Darian a veteran player in our league, but he brings a wealth of experience to our quarterback room and our locker room. In many facets, it’s a great addition for us, and we welcome Darian to the Bomber organization.”
It is expected he will serve as the backup to Matt Nichols.
Terms of the deal were not released.
