Yesterday my wife and I decided to make our way to Costco to pick up a few things. The only time I don’t mind going there is just after work on a weekday morning. Usually I will avoid that place like the plague on weekends, but I figured if we got there right around the time it opened, we’d be fine.
The doors opened at 10, so we stopped for breakfast on the way and were at the store by about 10:20. Well, 10:20 on a Sunday morning might just well have been 5 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon. The place was packed, as was the parking lot. I guess everyone had the same idea! You feel like you should win a prize just for finding a parking spot.
We roamed around the store for about half an hour before grabbing what we needed and making our way to the checkout line. There was no line that had less than 6 or 7 people in it and it seemed like everyone ahead of us had a shopping cart filled to the brim. All we had were two items!
I’m glad we got in line when we did. While we were waiting, another 10 shoppers or so lined up behind us. It was crazy. I’d love to see how much money that store rings up over the course of a year. I might have to buy me one of those!
I always told my wife I would never head to Costco on a weekend, but I caved in. After yesterday I know my reasoning behind that thought is rock solid!
