The Federal Government has appointed a new Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan.
Tom Molloy has been appointed the honour, replacing Vaughn Solomon Schofield who served for the last six years.
Molloy is an Officer of the Order of Canada and a recipient of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit for his community involvement and many years of service with the Government of Canada.
Minister Ralph Goodale issued a tweet congratulating Molloy earlier Monday, and Premier Brad Wall issued a statement announcing the appointment Monday afternoon.
Molloy becomes the 22nd lieutenant governor of Saskatchewan in history.
