A class action lawsuit has been filed in connection with a plane crash in December in the northern Saskatchewan community of Fond Du Lac.
The claim against West Wind Aviation and the airline’s majority shareholder Athabasca Basin Development comes from six of the passengers who were on the flight when it went down shortly after taking off.
One of those six is Arson Fern Senior whose son died in hospital several days after the crash.
In the claim, the plaintiffs allege several things including no appropriate steps were taken to de-ice the runway or the plane and that no direction or instruction was given by crew members as the plane was going down. They also say their standard of care was breached.
There were 22 passengers and three crew members on the plane when it went down.
