Starting March 1, SaskPower customers will be seeing an increase in their bill of about 4 dollars a month.
The government is approving a 3.5 percent rate increase for Saskpower. They had been hoping for an increase of five percent, but the Rate Review Panel reduced that to 3 and a half percent.
In a release, the Crown Corporation says this increase will go towards investments in maintenance and growth projects. It will also allow them to modernize the power grid to meet the demand for more power in the province and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent by the year 2030.
