The chief of the Regina Police Service wants to educate dispensaries and the public about the legitimacy of their operation.
Evan Bray addressed the media at police headquarters Wednesday and notes until it becomes legalized, sales of the drug will remain illegal.
“There exists no legal way to purchase cannabis from a storefront or dispensary.”
“Walking into a store, purchasing them over the counter is not a legal option,” he says.

In order to further communicate this point, Bray says Regina Police will embark on a mission to educate business owners and the public.
“We’re going to be using mainstream media, we’re going to be using social media and we will be having direct conversations and communication with the owners and operators of the retailers of the storefronts.”
Bray does note once the educational process is completed and dispensaries are still found to be operating, they could face criminal charges.
