The Regina Food Bank is celebrating a massive donation.
The G. Murray and Edna Forbes Foundation and Nutrien have combined to donate $87,500 to the Regina Food Bank.
CEO Steve Compton says the donation is significant.
“What this donation allows us to do is share nutritious food with our 28 member food banks across the province.”
Compton notes perhaps the most important part of this donation is the fact it gives rural communities across Saskatchewan, who may not have great access to food sources, a better opportunity to receive a variety of nutritious food.
“Given the geography of the province, often it’s a long way between food banks. And communities that don’t have the same availability to food support, we think we’ll be able to provide some really significant impact in the coming year.”
