A principal at a local school has been named one of Canada’s best.
David Magnusson, principal at Sacred Heart Community School, was named one of the 40 most outstanding principals in Canada.
Magnusson says it’s a humbling honour.
“It was very humbling in the sense that you work hard, do your job, and you want to do the best you can,” Magnusson says. “You hope you’re making a difference for kids and helping out.”
He says this award is a testament to the work everyone involved with the school is doing to contribute to student success.
“It’s definitely something that I will accept on behalf of the school and community, right from our parents, to our students to the staff,” Magnusson says. “It’s a complete team effort here at Sacred Heart.”
Magnusson is just one of two teachers from Saskatchewan receiving the award.
Magnusson will be attendance at a gala in Toronto on February 27th.
