Saskatchewan Health Authority – Regina issued a Do Not Consume Drinking Water Advisory for Regina Pioneer Village Saturday afternoon.
In a news release Saturday, the Saskatchewan Health Authority said the following.
“The advisory is a precautionary measure resulting from unplanned maintenance to the facility’s plumbing system.
Drinking the water is not advised. Water is safe for washing hands, bathing and laundering only.
Potable water has been brought to the facility for residents, visitors and staff, food preparation and other necessities.
Maintenance and public health staff are monitoring the issue.
Staff are aware, have implemented required actions and posted advisory signs to ensure the public and residents are informed.
The advisory will be lifted once water samples have been tested at an accredited lab and we are confident the system is safe again.”
An update on the situation is expected sometime on Monday.
