All the big wigs in renewable energy are in Calgary Tuesday to look at opportunities in Alberta in Saskatchewan, and SaskPower is there.
The Summit is organized by Canadian Clean Energy Conferences with the goal of getting all sides together to look at how to achieve renewable energy goals and hear from the developers, the operators, government and indigenous communities.
SaskPower spokesperson, Jordan Jackle, says the Crown Corporation’s goal is 50 per-cent renewable energy by 2030.
To get there, along with what SaskPower can generate, the company will also be purchasing energy from independent power producers.
Along with learning best practices from other operations, this event is a chance to network and meet possible providers.
SaskPower is also presenting at the conference, which Jackle said includes highlights on all of their renewable energy systems from wind to solar to the carbon capture project at Boundary Dam.
