Saskatchewan will not join Alberta’s ban on wines from B.C.
Alberta is banning B.C. wine in retaliation to B.C.’s effort to hamper the Trans-Mountain pipeline project.
Earlier, Alberta also stopped talks on purchases of B.C. electricity over the pipeline dispute.
Premier Scott Moe says the federal government has a responsibility to protect the economy and B.C. has no legal justification to delay the Trans-Mountain pipeline.
But he says Saskatchewan will not follow retaliatory measures which would contravene trade commitments.
So, he says Saskatchewan will not join an Alberta ban on B.C. wines.
