On Valentine’s Day, it doesn’t seem right that two teams who have no love for one another should play against one another, but that is what will happen on Wednesday night at the Brandt Centre as the Regina Pats go up against the Moose Jaw Warriors in the first of three straight games between the two clubs.
While the Warriors are the top team in the WHL, the Pats still find themselves in a battle with several teams for 3rd place in the East Division and the two wild-card spots in the Eastern Conference.
Going into Wednesday’s game, the Pats (29-23-5-1) are one back of the 3rd place Wheat Kings with Saskatoon only five back in the battle for the first wild-card spot.
Regina has had very little success against their Highway 1 foes this year as they are 0-3-1 on the season against Moose Jaw.
Max Paddock is expected to get the start in goal Wednesday. Paddock has been at the top of his game recently sporting a record of 3-0-1-1 in his last five starts with a goals against average of under two.
