Big weekend plans? You should have! Because, Regina will be ahead of the curve when it comes to fun activities.
So, the Regina Pats are in this week long battle with the Moose Jaw Warriors. The Pats Centennial Weekend gets underway tomorrow – the hockey club is playing in Moose Jaw. The Warriors are one game up in this three game series. MAN!
Friday is also a big night in celebration of those one hundred years of Pats history with the Pats Community Foundation Honours Dinner & Auction to be held at the Armouries. I am really looking forward to the evening that will be very Regimental, I’m sure!
Saturday through Monday winter fun is wrapped from the Brandt Centre to downtown and right over to the Conexus Arts Centre and east Wascana Park.
The Pats Centennial Weekend includes Saturday afternoon’s All Star Celebrity Classic game with NHL and WHL Alumni. Tickets are available and when someone says they think they saw Clark Gillies, Darcy Tucker or Barrett Jackman walking around Regina, they have!! The list of players is incredible. The event happens 3 pm Saturday; lots of time to enjoy the rest of the day!
Also on Saturday and Sunday in downtown Regina the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour is at the Victoria Park Plaza. Having worked at this on two separate occasions, in all kinds of weather, it is a lot of fun for the entire family!
And of course Sunday, more WHL hockey at the Brandt Centre – Sold Out Warriors Pats for the third time.
Monday the action swings to Wascana Lake at the Conexus Arts Centre – WASKIMO 2018! Bundle up and keep the family moving inside and out! 620 CKRM is happy to give you a lift around the park with the Sleigh Rides.
Remember last year it was slushy, this year it will be sunny but there will be frosty temperatures, so get ready to layer up and enjoy the winter fun that is WASKIMO! Days are longer, the weekend is too – no work, no school Monday! I’m all in!
