The province has been slowly saying goodbye to the Saskatchewan Transportation Company for the past year, first with the announcement that the provincial government would be shutting it down, then with the sale of its assets to Hilco Industrial.
Now, Hilco is piecing out all of the equipment for sale by auction.
All the buses are on the bidding block today and the rest of the equipment from the Saskatchewan Transportation Company are on auction tomorrow.
Today is the final day for sealed bids on all of the various sizes of buses, from the large 51 seaters to the 15 seater shuttle buses. In all, there are 45 to be sold.
Hilco Vice President, Bryan Courcier, expects the larger buses would be good for fleet operators and sports teams.
Tomorrow is the live, onsite webcast auction sale for all of the other STC property, which includes trucks, mechanical and shop equipment.
