The month of March is all about nutrition.
That’s according to the Dietitians of Canada, who have named this March to be Nutrition Month.
Theo Phillips, who’s with the DOC’s Saskatoon office, says this is all about raising awareness about the significant impact food alone has our lives.
“It really is to bring awareness to Canadians to understand that food has the potential to bring us together,” she said.
Phillips said as it pertains to Saskatchewan, there are lot of ways we can improve our nutrition.
With the agriculture sector being as important and central to province as it is, it’s key to look to the products of it for nutrition inspiration.
“Lentils, beans, one main commodity that we have,” she said. “Wheat, canola are amongst the many products that we provide not only to country, but to the world.”
