Opening debate Monday in the Saskatchewan legislature centred on the opioid crisis in the province.
NDP leader Ryan Meili is asking the SaskParty government to take more steps to fight illegal drugs, including expanding the use of remedies to counteract overdoses.
Two more people died on Friday in Maidstone from fentanyl overdose.
Meili wants to see community based organizations have access to remedy drugs like Narcan.
Premier Scott Moe says the province has expanded the use of narcotic remedy kits and is prepared to consider further distribution of them.
He says the province has spent 50 thousand dollars to increase the availability of remedy kits for illegal drug use but more may be necessary.
