The Saskatchewan NDP is pushing for a national pharmacare program.
Opposition leader Ryan Meili says Canada is the only country with universal health care which does not include prescription drug coverage.
He is asking the province to push Ottawa for a pharmacare program.
He says a national drug plan would save 7 billion dollars in lower drug costs alone and it would save lives.
Premier Scott Moe says Saskatchewan has one of the most comprehensive drug plans in the nation and he would want to ensure any new federal plan would be an improvement for Saskatchewan residents.
