It took him 13 games to do so, but Ethan Bear finally has his first NHL goal.
Bear took a pass from Connor McDavid and snapped it behind Anaheim’s John Gibson Sunday night late in the 3rd period to give the Oilers a 4-3 lead over the Ducks. Edmonton would eventually lose the game 5-4 in overtime.

“To score your first is s a really good feeling,” Bear told reporters after the game. “There were no lanes to the net, so we were cycling the puck to open up lanes. I went down and McDavid made a great pass. I had to bear down and it went in. It’s a play I’m going to remember for the rest of my life.”
The goal was also special because his former WHL coach in Seattle, Steve Konowalchuk, is now an assistant with the Ducks. He stopped by the Oilers room after the game to congratulate his former player.
