The Regina Pats need a win in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series with Swift Current to even it at 2.
The Pats outshot Swift Current 40-24 in Game 3, but the Broncos were the ones who came out victorious as they grabbed a 4-1 victory.
While Regina got 40 shots, they couldn’t generate a lot of scoring chances and saw many opportunities squashed by an aggressive Swift Current defence.
Head Coach John Paddock says despite what happened, the team can not let bad thoughts creep into their mind.
“What you have to do is not be frustrated because there is nothing to be frustrated about.” Paddock surmised. “That is what our mindset is. This is the playoffs and there are no surprises here. We just have to be better which is easier said and done. If you get frustrated, you start to pass too much and do other things. Just play the game.”
Forward Matt Bradley realizes his team has scored only three goals in three games. He says they just have to keep grinding and look for some positives.
“We’ve had some good chances, but we just have to get some bodies in front of Skinner and keep working hard. “Bradley said. “We’re getting the looks and hope the bounces start going our way. We’ve played hard every game, but a couple of mistakes have hurt us.”
Game time from the Brandt Centre Wednesday night is 7 o’clock.
