The Regina Pats and Swift Current Broncos will do it one more time.
With the Pats facing elimination in Game 6, they blasted the Broncos 7-2 one night after getting soundly beaten 5-2 in Swift Current to even the best of seven series at three setting up a game seven in Swift Current Monday.
Robbie Holmes got the scoring started for Regina late in the first period when he tipped an Aaron Hyman shot past Broncos goalie Stuart Skinner in a play which was reviewed for several minutes to see if it went in on a high-stick. Before the first was over, Regina added another from Cameron Hebig.
Hebig scored his second of the game in the first minute of the second period with goals by Jake Leschyshyn and Nick Henry also coming in the second to make it 5-1 after two.
In the third, both Sam Steel and Matt Bradley scored their first goals of the playoffs in what could be an encouraging sign for the Pats as they get for the seventh and deciding game. It will be the second straight year the two teams have seen their playoff series go the distance.
Last year, Regina used home ice to win that 7th game which sent them on to the Eastern Conference championship versus Lethbridge and completed a comeback that saw down in the series at one point 3-1.
