Well, yesterday Max and I made our way to see the vet for the third time in just over two months. The culprit? Another ear infection. Ear infections seem to be a little more common with goldendoodles, but this is getting to be a little ridiculous. It’s getting to be a little expensive and it’s basically just a pain in the a**!
On my way home I passed the vet clinic and noticed only two cars in the parking lot. Perfect! I went home, let Max outside to do his business, and then we were off to get this darn problem taken care of. By the time I got back to the clinic the parking lot was full and so was the clinic. Standing room only. Kim, the receptionist, told me to come back later, if possible, because it was going to be a busy morning and a long wait. So, Max and I got back into the vehicle and made our way back home.
I called down to the clinic a couple of hours later and was told that things should be good by around two. So, at two we made our way back to the clinic and hoped for a less packed waiting room. When we got there, there were about 6 owners with their pets ahead of us. I decided to wait it out, and wait it out we did. We were sitting in that waiting room for nearly two and a half hours before we got in to see the vet! It’s a good thing Max has more patience than his owner does.
I wasn’t in with the vet for very long. I went home with some drops for Max along a game plan for a new diet. Apparently, Max might have an allergy to something in the food we’ve been feeding him. Hey, whatever works. The last place I want to spend nearly three hours at every month is at the vet clinic.
I do believe Max would agree with me on that.
