Kevin Garinger is not only the president of the Humboldt Broncos hockey club, but he is also director of education for the Horizon School Division and says some of the junior hockey players were students.
Schools were closed Monday after the junior hockey team’s bus collided witha semi truck northeast of Saskatoon Friday killing 15.
Garinger says they recognize that the whole country is ‘wrapping it’s arms around Humboldt.’
“I think that in of itself is critical for our students, our parents and our community members,” Garinger says. “That outpouring of support has been vital in terms of beginning the processes, albeit very slow, toward healing.”
