Rising Canadian country singer Danielle Bourjeaurd joined us for the 620 CKRM Farm Fresh Song of the Day on Tuesday to talk about her new song entitled “Happy Hour.” The singer from Ontario has been working hard in Nashville for past six years and just recently signed with Ole Records Red Dot Roster.
The song is about the favourite time of day for many, happy hour!
“It was one of those really sunny days and everybody was kind of thinking of happy hour and we thought about (what) if we thought of happy hour not just having to be about drinks but a good partner to share that hour with,” smiled Bourjeaurd. “Sometimes when you first fall in love or find your long time partner you can look at that person and they can make you just as happy as happy hour and it’s kind of the same buzz, the same high, you get off from someone you love.”
In edition to singing Bourjeaurd also enjoys snowboarding in the mountains. She has been a snowboarding enthusiast for a long time thanks to learning the sport in Whistler, BC. Just recently she went to Banff for a wedding and managed to get some snowboarding.
“We went to Banff and I got to snowboard for a day out there and it was just beautiful blue bird weather, fresh powder up top my shoulders, and it was awesome. We had a great day,” she chuckled.
“Happy Hour” is from her latest project entitled “Country Sorta Way”which came out this past September. She and her team are already getting songs ready for a new project.
