Think Premier Scott Moe won’t turn off the gas and oil taps?
Following Question Period on Wednesday, the Premier addressed the media and made it clear he’s strongly considering joining Alberta in blocking gas and oil shipments to British Columbia over their dispute of the Trans Mountain pipeline.
“In Saskatchewan, we’re look at what legislation in Alberta may look like with respect to turning the taps off, if you will, from Alberta energy heading to British Columbia,” he said.
“And we support that legislation as it comes to fruition.”
The Trans Mountain pipeline received federal approval and was signed off on by the National Energy Board.
Moe said that makes it a viable project and John Horgan’s BC government needs to stop fighting against a federally approved energy project.
“The challenge is the regulatory environment the government of British Columbia is stepping in here and trying to exert some influence in an area where clearly the federal government has the purview.”
