About 2000 people were in Moosomin Friday to watch a hockey game.
But this wasn’t just any old hockey game.
It was a benefit game for the Humboldt Broncos, the 16 people that passed away, the injured, the families and all affected by the tragic crash.

Game organizer and Moosomin resident Mike Schwean said this was an event everyone got on board with without hesitation.
“I’m old and I know a lot people,” remarked Schwean. “I talked to a few guys, they talked to some guys, they talked to some guys, so yeah, it came together.”
“Probably with two hours, we had 80 guys.”
Schwean said the importance of the game meant too much to everyone.
“This was a pretty special cause.”
