The NDP is critical of the SaskParty government’s implementation of sales tax on used vehicles.
Opposition leader Ryan Meili says the SaskParty was elected in 2007 on a promise to remove the PST on used vehicles, yet now has launched a 95 million dollar tax grab.
He says it will hurt working families.
Premier Scott Moe says the province is focused on affordability.
Moe says the tax was implemented after much consultation and aligns Saskatchewan will all other provinces with a PST.
He says the province is on track to balance the budget in 3 years.
